About Megan Selby

Megan Selby
Founder of The Living Voice

Early years

Megan grew up in Cornwall with strong links to her father's native Scotland. A legacy of this is a deep love of the rugged coast of North Cornwall, the misty forests of South Cornwall and the wild Highlands of Scotland. Her connection to nature has influenced her studies and Megan gained a First Class degree from Derby University in Creative Expressive Therapies.

Finding her voice

Megan has always used her voice creatively. In 2009 she discovered Chloe Goodchild's work, the Naked Voice and this gave her a new pathway to channel her voice work. The main focus of her singing since then has been using mantras. Megan started running chanting groups and workshops and in 2014 recorded her first CD of mantras, "Singing into Stillness".

Sound Healing

Megan later discovered the College Of Sound Healing  and quickly became a practitioner and tutor. This gave her the tools to channel the healing work she had felt bubbling up in her for her whole life. Megan gained her degree alongside years of ME (chronic fatigue) and thus encountered many different therapies and healing methods. This has all, invariably, informed where she is now and she feels privileged to be able to use the sound for her own wellbeing and share it with others.

Megan has enjoyed working with BA Performance students, older people with dementia and stroke victims, young children, babies and all those drawn to the Sound work: "It is always an honour to hold space and see someone experience sound in their own way."
